Wooden Shoes Beat North Clay, Area Roundup

LOUISVILLE -- Teutopolis High School took a 2-0 lead in the third inning before North Clay came back with three in the fourth. But the Wooden Shoes didn't stay down long, coming back with two runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth for a 9-5 baseball win Tuesday.

Home run ball was the name of the game as Reed Hardiek pounded out a single, home run and three RBI while Bobby Wenthe nailed a shot and had two RBI. The Shoes are now 21-4 on the season.

North Clay was led by Stinnett with a single, double, home run and five RBI. Byers chipped in with two singles. The Cardinals drop to 17-7-1.

Tanner Traub pitched a no-hitter as Dieterich trounced Martinsville 10-0 in action Tuesday.

The Maroons edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second and scored runs in the next five innings. Traub walked only one batter and struck out a whopping 16.

A. Bohnhoff had two singles, a double and three RBI while Shoemaker had two singles.

At Beecher City

Brownstown/St. Elmo and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick went through two innings without scoring. But B/SE came back with a three-run third and went on for a 9-1 victory.

Noah Flowers pitched the five-hitter with four walks and 11 strikeouts. Landon Feezel hit a solo home run while Jacob Behrends had two singles and two RBI and Drake Hall two singles and an RBI. B/SE improves to 13-8 on the season.

BCCH was led by Brady Randall with a triple and an RBI.

At Kinmundy

The South Central Cougars came from behind with four runs in the bottom of the 10th to pull out a 12-9 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.

W/SS took a 1-0 first inning lead and led 4-1 after four and 6-2 after five. But the Cougars rallied with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings. The Blue Devils moved ahead 9-8 in the top of the 10th only to lose it in the bottom of the frame.

South Central loaded the bases and Noah Powless hit a walk-off grand slam for the Cougars.  Dylan Smith also had a big bat for the Cougars with a single, home run and four RBI. Gavin Ratterman chipped in two singles and an RBI and Brett Harmeier three singles and an RBI.

Brandon Helmuth had two singles and a double for the Blue Devils while Hayden Cole hit a home run and finished with six RBI. Christian Vonderheide chipped in with two singles and Jacob Kramer had two singles and an RBI. Windsor/Stew-Stras drop to 20-7 on the season.

It was long ball time at Neoga as Zach Monroe had a home run and three RBI, Jake Baker a home run and two RBI and Trevor Easton a home run and three RBI as the Indians beat Newton 15-9.

Newton held a 6-4 lead going into the fourth when Neoga broke loose with seven runs then added on four more in the sixth.

Newton had some long ball hitters of its own as Shull hit a home run and had three RBI, Reis a single, home run and an RBI and Taylor two singles, a home run and two RBI.

Neoga improved to 14-5-1 on the season.
