MATTOON -- John Ungrund scattered four hits while Bobby Wenthe drove in the lone run of the contest as Teutopolis High School edged Mattoon 1-0 in baseball action Wednesday.

The two teams went scoreless through four innings before Reed Hardiek singled in the fifth, took second on a wild pitch and came home on an up the middle single by Bobby Wenthe to give the Shoes all the runs they would need.

John Ungrund pitched a four-hitter with no walks and four strikeouts to move his record to 4-0 on the season. He got 11 batters to fly out, nine out of the first 13 batters.

"Great pitching job by John," said T-town Coach Justin Fleener. "He induced 11 fly ball outs. Defensively we played well and Bobby got the big hit when we needed it."

Wenthe finished with two singles and an RBI as the Shoes improved to 16-4. Mattoon dropped to 13-7.
