The only run of the contest came in the second when Effingham St. Anthony tallied to down rival Teutopolis 1-0 in baseball competition Tuesday at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Zach Gardewine scattered six hits across seven innings, allowing only one walk and striking out two.

T-town's Darren Probst picked up the tough-luck loss, allowing only three hits, one walk and striking out six.

Neil Williams, Jacob Lorenz and Brandon Puckett garnered a single each. Puckett scored the lone run.

Kenter and Will had two singles each for the Wooden Shoes.

At Neoga

Effingham had nine hits and tallied five runs in blanking Neoga, 5-0 Tuesday.

The Hearts scored a run in the opening inning then added on three in the third and one more in the fifth. Carter Hayes had a single, double and drove in two runs while Kennon Mahaffey added a double and Brayden Bone two singles. Jacob Dust had a single and drove in a run. The Hearts improve to 9-5.

Neoga was led by Hoedebecke with two singles.

Fifteen hits, 10 walks and six errors contributed to a 21-1 victory for Altamont over Ramsey Tuesday evening.

The Indians had a five-run first and a five-run second and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule. Winn had a double and a two-run homer while Ziegler had two singles and two RBI, Goeckner a triple and two RBI, Woflf three singles and four RBI, Ricketts two singles and three RBI, J. Miller a single, triple and three RBI and Cornett two singles and an RBI. Borders had three RBI with a single.

N. Miller picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter.

Brownstown/St. Elmo came back from a 2-1 deficit with three runs in the sixth to pull out a 4-2 victory over Dieterich Tuesday.

Dieterch held a 1-0 lead after two innings before BSE tallied a run in the third to knot the score. Dieterich moved ahead with a run in the top of the sixth but BSE came right back in the bottom of the frame, scoring three runs.

Jacob Behrends improved his pitching record to 4-2 in relief of Levi Maxey. Landon Feezel had a double and an RBI for the winners. Dalton Parks and Drake Hall had a single and an RBI each as Brownstown/St. Elmo improved to 10-7.

Dieterich was led by Traub with a single and triple and Shoemaker with two singles and two RBI. The Maroons drop to 5-6.

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick picked up its first victory of the season by beating Mulberry Grove 3-1.

BCCH tallied single runs in the second, third and fourth innings behind five hits. Jackson Bales had two singles while Austin Shelton had a double. Jacob Kenter drove in a run with a single.

Kenter improved to 1-2 allowing five hits, no walks and striking out five. BCCH is now 1-6 on the season.

South Central came from a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the sixth to tally four runs and went on to edge North Clay (Louisville) 7-6.

Noah Powless had a home run and three RBI for the winners. Smith had two singles and an RBI while Bray also had two singles and an RBI. Ross had a single, double and an RbI and Holmes three singles. The Cougars improve to 6-8 on the season.

North Clay was led by Claye Byers with two singles and an RBI and Walker with a single, double and two  RBI.

At Kinmundy

Mattoon claimed an 11-1 win over Newton. The Green Wave had 11 hits in the contest while Newton committed four errors.

Lodes picked up the pitching win to improve to 4-0 behind a three-hitter with four strikeouts. The Green Wave improve to 11-5.

Newton was led by Huston with a double and an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blasted Cumberland 19-7 in five innings via the 10-run rule Tuesday.

Windsor/SS had a 17-run second inning to put the game away. Alex Allen had a single, two doubles and an RBI for the winners while Christian Vonderheide had a single, double and four RBI, Hayden Cole a single, home run and two RBI and Devon Deremiah a single, double and four RBI.

Cumberland was led by Hunter Light with a single, double and an RBI, Hayden Kanizer with three singles and Nicholas Kimble with a double and two RBI. Blayke Cutts added two singles and two RBI.
