Alec Quandt Doing Well At MacMurray College

Effingham High School graduate Alec Quandt is doing well for the MacMurray College baseball team.

The freshman earned a pitching win in his first career start March 27. Quandt gave up two runs (one earned) and scattered six hits in the win. He struck out two and didn't allow a walk in his first collegaite start. He also contributed offensively, with a single and a two-run double. He scored a run as MacMurray beat Robert Morris U-Springfield 7-6.

In a Sunday, March 30 contest against No. 6-ranked Webster University, MacMurray dropped a 4-1 loss. The Highlanders were led by Quandt who had a single and a double.

MacMurray fell to Webster University in a Saturday, March 29 doubleheader.

The Highlanders split a pair of SLIAC conference games Tuesday at Iowa Wesleyan College. MacMurray fell 3-1 in the opener and rallied for a 6-5 victory in the nightcap.

Quandt had two singles and an RBI and scored a run in the win.

MacMurray improves to 4-5 in the conference, 8-10 overall.

Also a member of the team is freshman Clayton Ruckman, an Altamont High School graduate.
