EHS Falls To M-S, T-town Bombs Casey-Westfield, Area Roundup

Efifngham High School dropped a 7-4 decision to visiting Mahomet-Seymour Thursday evening.
Mahomet-Seymour took a 3-0 first inning lead and led 6-3 after four innings. M-S had 11 hits in the contest and was aided by four EHS errors. Effingham was led by Carter Hayes with two singles, a home run and four RBI.
The Hearts drop to 0-2 on the season.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis High School stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and went on to bomb Casey-Westfield 16-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule in baseball action Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes' offense tallied 13 hits in the game while Andy Borries and Darren Probst combined on a two-hitter. Probst picked up the pitching win, going three innings, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out six. Borries allowed two hits, no walks and struck out three.
Probst had a double and drove in a run while Cody Will had two singles and four RBI and Bobby Wenthe two singles and two RBI. Bloemer added a single and drove in two runs.
The Shoes improve to 3-0 and will be back in action Saturday hosting La Salle-Peru at 4 p.m.

Flora stepped out to a quick lead on Dieterich and held the Movin' Maroons scoreless for a 6-0 victory.
The Wolves had nine hits in the contest with Fitch garning a single, home run and three RBI, Thompson a single, double and two RBI and Litaker a double and an RBI.
Dieterich was led by A. Bohnhoff and Thoele with a single each.

Greenville had nine hits while Tyler Hutchinson pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts. BSE's only hit was a single by Landon Feezel.
BSE drops to 2-2 while Greenville improves to 3-0.

Newton picked up an 8-2 victory over Altamont. The Eagles stepped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings, then had a run in the sixth and five in the seventh.
The Eagles had 12 hits in the contest led by Mammoser with two singles, Meinhart with a triple and three RBI and Chesnut with two singles and two RBI.
Altamont was led by Cornett with a single and an RBI.
