T-town Sweeps Doubleheader

SALEM -- Teutopolis High School swept a baseball doubleheader over Salem Saturday.
In the opener, the Wooden Shoes won 7-6. T-town stepped out to a 4-1 lead after two innings and led 5-4 after five then tacked on single runs in the sixth and seventh. The Wildcats came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh only to fall short.
Wenthe picked up the pitching win. He also aided his own cause with a solo home run. Hardiek had a single, home run and an RBI.
In the second conteset, T-town was a 9-7 winner behind a 12-hit attack. Niemerg was the winning pitcher. Goldstein had three singles and drove in four runs to lead the Shoes.
T-town is now 2-0 on the season while Salem dropped to 3-2.
