Cardinals Fall To Marlins

(Jupiter, FL) -- Peter Bourjos tripled in a run during the fifth inning as the Cardinals lost 4-3 to the Marlins Thursday. Daniel Descalso and Jon Jay also knocked in runs for St. Louis in the fifth. Scott McGregor suffered the loss in relief. Lance Lynn gave up three runs in four innings in the start. The Cards play the Nationals today

Diaz To Make Debut Today

(Jupiter, FL) -- Cuban infielder Aledmys Diaz will make his spring debut today at Roger Dean Stadium against the Nationals. The 23-year-old was signed by the Cards earlier in the exhibition season. He was inked to a four-year deal worth $8-million and is expected to be the everyday starter at shortstop at Double-A Springfield.

Cubs Lose To Seattle

(Mesa, AZ) -- Jeff Samardjiza was solid through the first five-and-a-third innings as the Cubs lost 3-0 to the Mariners. Samardjiza gave up two runs but struck out eight in the loss. Chicago was held to only four hits by winning pitcher Erasmo Ramirez. The Cubs and White Sox hit the field in Phoenix today.
