Cubs Fall To Mariners

(Peoria, AZ) -- Seattle scored three runs in the ninth and one in the tenth to upend the Cubs 8-7. Marcus Hatley took the loss, giving up three hits without recording an out in the tenth inning. Mike Olt recorded three hits including two home runs in a three RBI performance. John Baker also drove in three runs with a single and a double. The Cubs are back in action tomorrow against the Dodgers with Kyle Hendricks on the mound.

 

White Sox Drop Game To Against Giants

(Scottsdale, AZ) -- The Giants rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to slide past the White Sox 4-3 in Cactus League play. Nestor Molina recorded the loss giving up two runs on three hits in a third of an inning. Tyler Flowers recorded two hits and a RBI and Alejandro De Aza added a hit and a RBI. Chicago is back in action today against the Angels with Jose Quintana on the bump.

 

Wong, Martinez Pace Cardinals Past Mets

(Port St. Lucie, FL) -- Kolten Wong homered for the second straight day as the Cardinals held off the Mets 6-4 in Grapefruit League play in Port St. Lucie.  Starter Carlos Martinez struck out three while allowing just two hits in four shutout innings for the win. Scott Piscotty drove in two for St. Louis.

The Cardinals are back in Jupiter today as they host the Braves at Roger Dean Stadium. Lance Lynn is slated to take the mound for St. Louis, while Atlanta counters with veteran Freddy Garcia. The Cards are 3-7 in Grapefruit League play thus far, while the Braves are 6-9.
