Cardinals Crush Mets

(Jupiter, FL) -- Shane Robinson drove in three runs to help the Cardinals crush the Mets 7-1 in Jupiter. Matt Holliday and Pete Kozma each had two RBI for St. Louis, which moved to 1-and-2 in the spring. Starter Michael Wacha tossed an inning-and-two-thirds of shutout ball for the win. The Cards clash with the Tigers in Lakeland today.


Cubs Fall To Royals

(Mesa, AZ) -- Javier Baez and Justin Ruggiano each had two hits but the Cubs suffered a 5-3 loss to the Royals Sunday in Mesa. Edwin Jackson surrendered a run on three hits in two innings to start the game. The Cubs face the Brewers today in Maryvale.

Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro left Sunday's game after the first inning with a mild hamstring strain. He was hurt sliding into second base on a steal attempt. Castro had treatment but says he should be alright after a few days off.

 

White Sox Come Back, Top Rangers

(Surprise, AZ) -- The White Sox rallied for five runs in the ninth to capture a 9-7 win over the Rangers in Surprise. Felipe Paulino was tagged for four runs in 1 2/3 innings in the start, allowing eight hits along the way. The Sox host the Royals today in Glendale.
