Lloyd W. “Jr” Wagner Jr., 70, of Effingham passed away December 19, 2013 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
 
Funeral services for Lloyd will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 24th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham with Pastor Ted Gall officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23rd at Hall Funeral Chapel and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Island Creek Cemetery, rural Montrose. Memorials may be made to Jr's grandchildren and checks may be made out to: "benefit for Lloyd Wagner". Lloyd Jr. was born June 28, 1943 in Effingham the son of Lloyd and Frieda (Wendling) Wagner, Sr. He married Rae Ann Starwalt on February 27, 1977 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham and she survives.
 
Jr. was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham and was very active in church, serving on the Board of Elders, the Board of Education and many other committees at church.  He worked for the Department of Transportation in Effingham and then he was a retired Business Administrator at the Department of Corrections in Vandalia. Jr. worked part- time at D.J.’s Package Liquors and Guffey’s Cleaners, Effingham, and umpired men’s slow pitch softball for many years.
 
Survivors include his wife, Rae Ann and children, Rachel Wagner, Kari Wagner Ault of Effingham and Kelsey (Kacie) Wagner of Murfreesboro, TN , grandchildren; Alex and Chantz Wagner and Jadyn Ault, sisters; Betty Shipp and Janet (Darrell) Hadley of Mt. Zion, brother, Larry (Kaye) Wagner of Sullivan and Sam (Anne) Wagner of Effingham, also several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene Bahr, brother in law, Garland Shipp.
