Wanda L. Reep, 88, of Newton died at 12:32am Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Westside Garden Plaza in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Tim Pearce officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Wanda, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Boys and Girls Ball Park.

Wanda was born on April 1, 1924 in Pocahontas, AR the daughter of Roland and Marjorie M. (White) Morris. She married Paul J. “PJ” Reep in April 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1976. After graduation from high school, Wanda attended Draughons Business College in Memphis, TN. She then worked with the military at the Army Air Corps in Walnut Ridge, AR. She later transferred to Great Bend Kansas Air Corps Base and that is where she met PJ. After their marriage they moved to Newton in 1946. Her and PJ owned and operated Reep and Son Furniture Store on the East side of the square in Newton for many years. Wanda was well known for her decorating skills in residential and commercial design. Wanda loved being a part of the community. Wanda was a member of the Quail Creek Country Club and the Business Professional Woman’s Association. She was a charter member of the Newton Fall Festival which was founded by the business members of the square. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid golfer. She loved her little dog Pockets.
Wanda’s greatest treasure was her family which she is survived by her loving daughters – Carol A. Reep of Indianapolis, IN and Sarah L. (Jonathan) Rauk of Saline, MI. A granddaughter – Leigh Rauk of Saline, MI and two sisters – Eileen Singley of Pocahontas, AR and Mary Lou Jewell of Bartlett, TN.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
