Mildred Imogene Hunter, 97, of St. Elmo, formerly of Brownstown, died at 6:26 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Friendship Manor, St. Elmo.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown with Rev. John Heicher officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Mildred was born on Thursday, April 27, 1916 in Otego Township, rural Brownstown to William H. and Alma (Campbell) Reed. She married John R. Hunter on May 17, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1997. She had been a homemaker and with her husband had operated an upholstery business.  She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Avena.

Mildred is survived by her cousins, Karen Denning, Mary Wasser, and Helen Henrichsmeyer and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother in infancy.
