Margaret L. Wilson age 83, of Newton passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton with Billy Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, March 29th in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newton, Illinois.

Margaret was born on September 2, 1941, in Newton, Illinois the daughter of Lawrence “Buck” and Lillie (Weck) Piercefield. On January 12, 1963, Margaret married Guy Thomas Wilson, Sr. He survives. In addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, Margaret worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown, U.T.A. and in the laundry at the Newton Rest Haven. In her free time, Margaret loved walking. She enjoyed gambling and taking trips to Las Vegas and Tunica. When at home, she liked to read, listen to country music, Willie’s Road House and to work jig saw puzzles. Her favorite thing was to spoil her grandbabies. She was known to fill them with Brach’s Chocolate Stars and Big Red pop; sending them home full of sugar and lots of grandma’s love.

Margaret will be loved and remembered by her husband of sixty-two years Guy Thomas Wilson, Sr. of Newton; children, Tom (Patty) Wilson, Jr. of Newton, Dolly (Jim) Hamilton of Hunt City, Cathy (Kenneth Ochs) Wilson of Ste. Marie, Mendy (Richard) Rubsam of Newton, Kasey (fiancé Bryan Sempsrote) Wilson of Bogota, Nichole (Travis) Reynolds of Newton and Chipp Wilson of Oblong; 20 grandchildren, Natashia Webb, Tommy Wilson, Kaleb Wilson, Nichole Reynolds, Chipp Wilson, Sammie Hundley, Kristopher Curtis, Taylor Tarpley, Irelynne Ochs, Gavin Ochs, Maekenna Ochs, Brock Rubsam, Reid Rubsam, Reagan Rubsam, Garrett Rubsam, Rylee Goad, Mylee Goad, Lennon Sempsrote, Ashton Reynolds, Kodi Reynolds, Weston Reynolds; 23 greatgrandchildren and 2 eagerly awaited great grandchildren; brother Tony “Butch” Piercefield; sisters, Shirley “Shug” McCann, Mary Jean Parker, Nancy (Jim) Tuttle, Marsha Stevens and Candy (Randy) Smith all of Newton.

Her parents, daughter Geanie Marie Wilson, son Cody Buck Wilson, brother Joe “Sunny” Piercefield and wife Carol, sister-in-law Lucy Piercefield and brothers-in-law Neil McCann, Oscar Parker, and Lucky Stevens preceded her in death.
