Charles Troy "Tom" Davis (90) of the Hickstown community

Charles Troy “Tom” Davis, age 90, of the Hickstown community southeast of Herod, Illinois, passed away at 3:13 PM - Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM - Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Iron Furnace Road, Elizabethtown, Illinois, with Clifford Rose officiating. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Charles Troy, better know as “Tom” was born on October 26, 1934, in the Kaskaskia community in Hardin County, Illinois, the son of Charley and Gladys (Reed) Davis. He married Loywonia Faye “Wonnie” Davis, on May 8, 1961, and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2021. Tom was a longtime fluorspar miner in Hardin County and retired from Ozark-Mahoning after 40 years of service. He was an avid coon hunter, enjoyed horses, playing the guitar and listening to bluegrass music.

Tom is survived by: Children – Dennis Davis of West Palm Beach, Florida; Kelly (wife Tammy) Davis of Herod, Illinois; Kevin Davis of Herod, Illinois; Kimberly Lamar of Elizabethtown, Illinois; and Kurt (wife Amanda) Davis of Herod, Illinois Grandchildren - Will (Rosy) Finnerty, Nikki (Jamie) Sauers, Justin (Maygan) Davis, Trevor (Jessie) Davis, Ethan Lamar, Danielle (Tyler) Vaughn, Iris Davis, CK Davis, Adriana Davis 10 Great Grandchildren

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law Chuck Lamar, great grandson Liam Davis, sister Opal Hubbard and a brother Garry Don Davis.
