Lois Karel Durbin, age 81, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away the morning of Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at her home.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Trinity Chapel/Post Oak Church in rural St. Elmo, with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in rural Beecher City. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Lois was born on April 3, 1943 in Avena Township, Illinois, the daughter of John Henry and Eva Delores (Scholes) Dial. She married Billy Eugene Durbin on December 15, 1963 in St. Elmo, and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and she loved her farm.
She is survived by sons, Ed Durbin (wife Mona) of Farina, IL and Steven Durbin (wife Jennifer) of St. Elmo, IL; daughter, Karel Black (husband Mike) of Brownstown, IL; brothers, Dwayne Dial (wife Marilyn) of St. Elmo, IL and Doyle Dial (wife Donna) of St. Elmo, IL; 9 grandchildren, Clayton, Zach, Megan, Caitlyn, Kayla, Maggie, Abby, Joseph, and Ethan; 6 great-grandchildren, Henry, Alice, Daniel, Ty, Creed, and Josephine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Dial; and sisters, Cleo Miller and Frieda Ramsey.
