Carl was devoted to his wife and six children. He grew up on a farm where he developed his strong work ethic. Most of his work career was in the printing industry at the Effingham Daily News and Crossroads Press. In retirement, Carl enjoyed working in his garden and mowing yards. He was a great handy man and “jack of all trades”. Carl enjoyed his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events where he thought he was a part-time referee. He was excited about babysitting his grandchildren and he lived up to his name, Great Pa. Carl was a man of few words but showed his love in many ways. He set a great example to his family in loving his Catholic faith.
Dad, Grandpa and Great Pa, we love you, miss you and will think of you always. Thank you to the staff at Glenwood Assisted Living, HSHS Hospice, SPS caregivers and Dr. Heischmidt.
