George Taphorn, 94, of rural Beecher City, died at 2:52 Sunday, March 9, 2025 at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
George Henry Taphorn was born on Saturday, December 1, 1930 in Piatt County to Henry and Elva (Shaffer) Taphorn. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by; nephews, Warren Taphorn and Gerald (Marianna) Taphorn; and niece, Mindy Taphorn. He was preceded in death by; his parents and brothers, Harold, Robert and Lawrence Taphorn.
