Mary Francis Stanford, age 66 of Louisville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
Mary was born October 4th 1958, to Jack and Gail McComas in Redondo Beach, California. She moved to Maui, Hawaii where she met Ronald Stanford, and they married in 2003. Mary worked at many jobs, but her true passion was working with developmently disabled adults. She excelled in being their greatest advocate and a true mother to just about everybody she worked with. Mary was a House Manager for the Cila Corporation in Flora and loved her job and her go to mentor, Gidget Simpson and adored the Director, Dayo Adenekan of whose two daughters Mary was Godmother to. She relied heavily on Kassie Henrichsmeyer to keep things running when she could not be everywhere all at once. All of those she cared for, led a happier, more enjoyable life. Mary was a lady who loved life and was a motherly figure to everyone she met. She loved simple pleasures in life like going antiquing and making crafts at home. She loved this county area, to be able to sit outside and listen to the Crickets and bugs making noise at night brought her great pleasure.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ronald, sisters Robin Oranski, Karen (John) Blackwell, Theresa Congden, Ann (Mike) Mihalkanin, and brothers Jack McComas Jr and Mark McComas, children Ronald (Sandra) Stanford Jr, Rick Hummel Jr and Karen Brooks, 7 grandchildren, 2 Godchlidren Ameerah and Azeemah Adenekan, and her many fur babies. She never turned anyone away.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, her parents in law, Jack Sr and Leona Mae Stanford.
