Barbara Ann Kiefer Jayne, age 87, of Dade City, Florida, formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:52 AM - Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Royal Oak Nursing Center in Dade City, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM – Friday, March 14, 2025, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left by clicking here.

Barbara was born on June 13, 1937, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence George and Frances May (Shafer) Kiefer. As a teenager she worked at Saint Anthony’s Memorial Hospital. Later she went to work at the ERBA Office in Newton, Illinois. Barbara retired from Multi Line Can Company in Ridge Manor, Florida and worked at CARES as a visiting nursing assistant. Barbara married Roy Albert Jayne and to this union five children were born. Barbara was a volunteer for many organizations and nursing homes. She was an avid knitter, making and giving away many items to her friends and family. Barbara was a member of the Moose, Eagles and VFW auxiliary all in Ridge Manor, Florida.

Barbara is survived by: Sons – Mike “Zombie” (Vickie) Jayne of Newton, Illinois and David Jayne of Dade City, Florida Grandchildren-Shane Molter, Jody Molter, Cody Molter, Chrissy Schafer 6 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, daughters Jeanie Jayne, Judy Molter and Connie Mitchell and brothers John and Charlie Kiefer.
