Richard Morrison (72) of Beecher City

Richard Morrison, 72, of Beecher City, died at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his home.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society – World Wide Technology Hope Lodge, St. Louis, MO. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard was born on Monday, August 4, 1952 in Vandalia to George R. and Grace A. (Sinnard) Morrison. He married Richelle Huffman on November 6, 1971. He was retired as a rural mail carrier after 32 years. In retirement he loved playing golf with friends and family and even made some out of state trips to play. Dick was a man that enjoyed life, friends and above all family. He was very friendly and would start conversations with complete strangers. He was loved by many.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Matthew A. Morrison and Michel S. (Jennifer) Morrison, both of Beecher City; grandchildren, Malayknee, Hallye, Brody, Lane, Wade (Miranda), Eden, and Judah; honorary daughter, Rachael Bell and honorary granddaughter, Nova Bell. He is also survived by numerous nephews, neices, great nephews and nieces and several great-great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; brothers, Herb, Gilbert, and Kevin; and sister, Leora Sluder.
