Jeremiah Lee Stice was born on November 20, 2020, to Philip Isaac and Hannah Joann (Miller) Stice in Effingham, Illinois. Born slightly prematurely and being diagnosed deaf at four months old requiring cochlear implantation, Jeremy was already defying the odds. Those odds became even greater at 18 months old with his diagnosis of Arts Syndrome–an extremely rare, regressive, genetic disorder, affecting only 25 documented cases, to date, worldwide. Despite his disorder, labeled “embryonic lethal” for males, he not only fought his way out of the womb, but he fought to always progress forward along the way, developing new milestones in the face of many obstacles. Regardless of all disabilities, he was loved unconditionally. He always wore the most precious, content smile and enjoyed the simple things in life, like playing with his measuring spoons and bear collection, sorting blocks, standing with help, and above all else, being with momma. At age 4, on February 21, 2025, his sweet spirit departed this world, being surrounded by his parents and grandparents, but now forever strong in the arms of Jesus.

Jeremy is survived by his parents, Philip and Hannah; sisters, Esther Grace and Joanna Gracelee; brother, Jameson Dewey; grandparents, Roy and Chris (Barkoozis) Miller, and Gail (Langley) Stice; great-grandfathers, Delbert Miller and Sam Langley; great-grandmother, Freda Stice, and numerous aunts, uncles, extended family and friends so look forward to singing and dancing with Jeremy one day.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his Papa Jerry Lee Stice; great-grandparents, Nyals Stice, Katie Ruth (Brown) Langley, JoAnn (Gray) Miller and Charles and Clara (Hodge) Barkoozis, and aunt, Sarah Mae Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick with Pastor Jeremy Suey officiating.
