
Nancy L. Kyle (88) of Shelbyville

Nancy L. Kyle, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, Illinois, on February 13, 2025, just one day short of celebrating her 67th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Lloyd L. Kyle.
Nancy was born on June 4, 1936, in Decatur, the daughter of Kermit and Jean (Custer) Smith. On Valentine's Day 1958, Nancy wed Lloyd, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising a family. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Blessed with three sons, Alan (Joan) Kyle of Mesa, Arizona, Steve (Debbie) Kyle of Shelbyville, and Jeff (Jill) Kyle of Mahomet; grandchildren, Hannah (LJ) Austin, Abigail (Mason) Cadwell, Rachel Kyle (Colton Coy), Sarah Kyle, Jerame Arthur and Avery Arthur (Bryan Shaw); two great-grandchildren, Henry and Jack; and her sister, Marianne Owens of Camp Point.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Jean Smith, and a brother who passed away in infancy.
A faithful attendee of Fellowship Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Nancy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with guidance and solace. She was known for her generous spirit and her willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. Nancy's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt; she enjoyed reading and was an avid collector of vintage cats. Family gatherings were the highlight of Nancy's life, especially the precious time spent with her grandchildren. She created a warm and welcoming home where laughter and stories were shared, and memories were made. Nancy's legacy is one of love, devotion, and the simple joys of life.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City with Pastor Tom Cosat officiating. A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Moccasin. Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
