Terry Duane Huddlestun, 77, of Greenup, IL passed away at 3:28 am on February 4, 2025, at his residence.

Services will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.

Terry was born in Effingham, IL on August 16, 1947, to Kenneth and Veva (Cook) Huddlestun. He married Dorothy Wesselman on July 19, 1975.

Survivors include his wife; mother Veva; children Troy (Kim) Huddlestun, Duane (Kari) Huddlestun, Mac Huddlestun, and Michele (Nathaniel) Figgins; brother Gary (Jackie) Huddlestun; nine grandchildren Kaylee, Sydnee, Alexis, Kylie, MaKayla, and Shaylee Huddlestun, Tyler, Clate, and Raylan Figgins.

Terry was preceded in death by his father. Terry served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1966-68. He retired from EIU after working 20 plus years in custodial services. He was a life member of both the Greenup VFW and the Greenup American Legion. Terry was an avid gardener who took pride in his meticulous garden and was quick to share what he expertly grew. He enjoyed fishing, following sports, and sitting on his front porch enjoying his surroundings or chatting with friends and family. When his children were younger, Terry often had a full house, as friends of his children would often gather to enjoy the hospitality, they would receive there. But most of all Terry loved being “grandpa” and leaves his grandchildren with fond memories of his playful nature, love of outdoors, and his gravelly, one-of-a-kind laugh. He took an active role in caring for his grandchildren, even helping to raise those that lived nearby. Terry will be remembered as a man who would do anything for his family, a man who gave sage advice and always seemed to have a cup of coffee in his hand.
