Eleanor C. Gebben, 92 of Teutopolis, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday with a 3:45 p.m. CCW rosary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Catholic Charities or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis.

Eleanor was born July 3, 1932, in Teutopolis, the daughter of August and Frances (Pals) Deters. She married Eugene B. "Gene" Gebben on May 10, 1952, and he preceded her in death in 2007. Eleanor was a member of St. Francis Church in Teutopolis and a former state officer with the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Mark) Morgan; sons, Carl (Cheryl), Christopher, Mark (Cindy), Mike (Lynette), Patrick (Julie), Paul (Tammy), and Stanley; sisters, Irene (Jerome) Probst and Rita (Tom) Thoele; in-laws, Viola Gebben Green, Sylvia Gebben Hartke, and Andy (Pat) Gebben; eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Deters; brothers, Jim (Louise) Deters and Joe (Mary Lou) Deters; daughter-in-law, Diane Wente Gebben.
