Norma Jean Huelsing (93) of Effingham

Norma Jean (Thoele) Huelsing, age 93 and 4 days, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on February 8, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Anthony Scholarship Fund or Catholic Charities.

Jeannie was born in Effingham on February 4, 1932, to Edward and Mathilda Thoele. She lived a wonderful, faith-filled life.

She was a loving Mother to six children, Steve (Gail), Jane Schwindenhammer (Dave), John (Nancy), Mary Holloway (Joe), Chris (Becky), and Tim (Jill). Jeannie was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who loved and adored her dearly.

She was employed at Brown’s Drug Store at the Village Square Mall in Effingham. Jeannie was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a parishioner of St Anthony of Padua church. Jeannie loved her Roman Catholic faith and her family. She will be so deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Steve and John.
