Henry Louis Quandt was born on Friday, January 19, 1951 in Vandalia, IL to Henry ‘Hank’ Ernst Oliver and Mary Virgina ‘Ginny’ (Roedell) Quandt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church. He married Rita Ryan and they were married for 13 years. Henry started his adult life farming with his family. Later he ran a fertilizer company for a time, then worked as a semi-driver of livestock and later for Sherwin Williams. Upon his retirement from trucking, he returned to what he loved and spent the last 6 years farming with family on Buzzard Farms. Henry loved fast cars (preferably Camaros), white pickup trucks, John Deere tractors, and getting the mower lines just right on his lawn. He loved gardening and for the last several years planted a huge strawberry patch by hand every fall. He always had a soft spot for animals, and was almost never without an Alaskan Malamute for a companion. But most of all, he loved his family, especially his kids and his grandkids.
