Rachael Marie Decker (100) of Toledo

Rachael Marie Decker, 100, of Toledo, Illinois passed away at 10:55 am on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 28, 2025, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time also at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.

Rachael was born on July 10, 1924, in Gays, IL., daughter of Charles and Bertha (Gentry) Sparks. She married Austin Dale Decker on January 12, 1942, in Effingham, IL.

Survivors include daughter Evelyn Steele of Toledo, IL.; sons Austin Dale (Sandra) Decker of Toledo and Robert (Mary) Decker of Woodstock, IL.; grandchildren Nancy Chance, Tom Steele, Ed (Shelly) Steele, Jeff (Kim) Decker, Paula (Rory) Gentry, Donna Decker, Kathy Adams, Angie (Mike) Domagala, and Amy (Ben) Gialloreto; great-grandchildren Shayla, Tyler, Britlynn, Austin, Samuel, Makayla, Alexander, Kristin, Ashley, Joshua, Leah, Alvin, Kassidy, Eleanor, Olivia, and Henry; great-great grandchildren Madeline, Molly, Axel, and Luca; sister Viola Russell.

Rachael was preceded in death by her husband Dale Decker in 2009; her parents; great-granddaughter Allie Dale Decker; sister Florence Kotera; brothers David, Levi, Jesse, Robert, Ben, Fred, Ruffus, and Osba.

Rachael became a member of the Woodbury Methodist Church on January 7, 1962 and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized by Immersion at the Mattoon Lake by Rev. Robert Holmes.
