Dianna Lynn Carr (64) of Greenup

Dianna Lynn Carr, 64, of Greenup, IL, passed away at 11:24 pm on Sunday December 8, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday December 28, 2024, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Village Venue located at 119 S. Kentucky Street in Greenup, IL. Food and drink will be provided. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Dianna was born on June 26, 1960, in Benton, IL, to William and Shirley (Hayes) Hays. She married Jeffrey Carr on July 22, 1996.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jeff; father Bill Hays; brothers Mike Hays, Randy Hays, Bob (Laura) Hays, Jeff (Cathy) Hays, and sister Pat (Louis) Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Tolle, and brother Everett Hays.

Dianna worked at RR Donnelly for many years before retiring. With love for the natural world, Dianna spent countless hours on her back porch watching wildlife, taking nature walks, and tending to her flower beds. Her spirit was as vibrant and lively as the hummingbirds she nurtured. Dianna was the heart of her family and loved hosting family gatherings. Known as “Aunt DiDi” to many nieces and nephews, she was always a shoulder to cry on, hand to hold, and a heart that understands. Her kindness knew no bounds; she took joy in spoiling her loved ones and the wildlife that frequently visited her home. She enjoyed collecting crystals and always researched the energy they held. She was an avid NHRA fan and enjoyed traveling the country with her husband to watch the races. Her infectious laughter, smile, and genuine spirit made it impossible not to adore her.

Embracing Dianna’s commitment to helping others, memorials in her name can be made to the Cumberland Elementary School 1496 IL Rte 121 Toledo, IL 62468, for classroom supply needs.
