Doris M. Aleshire (95) of Greenup

Doris M. Aleshire, 95, of Greenup, IL passed away at 1:30 am on Friday November 15, 2024, at the Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, in Greenup, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday November 21, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Doris was born on October 22, 1929, in Jewett, IL. to David and Edith (Trimble) Shupe. She married Donald D. Aleshire on November 2, 1946.

Survivors include her daughters Carolyn Shobe, Marilyn (Buddy) Post, and Linda (Bruce) Shepherd; grandchildren Stacey James, April (Kirk) James, Jeri Shobe, Dana (Arlin) Ruholl, Donnie Starwalt (Meggan); great grandchildren Jonathon, Amelia, and Bethany Starwalt, Lacey (Ryan) Thoele, Dillon (Renee) Ruholl, Rowdy Ruholl, Maverick Ruholl, Shae (Nick) Zumbahlen, and Morgan (Renee) James; great-great grandchildren Paisley, Porter, Lenora, Natalie, Lane, Arthur, Reba, Lily, Oliver, and Ella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons James and Eddie, brother Dale F. Shupe, and one great grandson Lucas James.

Doris worked at Brown Shoe Company in Mattoon, and General Electric for over 30 years. She was a member and past president of the Greenup VFW Auxiliary. She was also member of the Toledo American Legion Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed traveling, camping and spending her winters in Florida.
