Loretta A. Konrad (83) of Effingham

Loretta A. Konrad, 83, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Church or St. Michael School in Sigel. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here. 

Loretta was born on May 19, 1941, in Neoga, IL, the daughter of Henry and Verona (Wolke) Konrad. Loretta was a graduate of Neoga High School Class of 1959. She had worked at G.C. Murphy for 25-plus years, Spurgeon’s, Walmart, and Wiedman Cleaners. Loretta enjoyed going to her “Murphy Lunch Club”. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She loved wearing everything blue, popping her gum, and always having her hair done. She was a member of St. Michael Church and the CD of A.

Loretta is survived by her nieces and nephews, Wayne (Angie) Deters, Denise (Keith) Kramer, Keith (Sandy) Deters, Cindy Deters, Judy (Mike) Sweet, Donna (Dave) Kellum, and Robin (Joe) Osborn; 21 great-nieces and nephews; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Harry Deters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Madonna Deters and Eloise Konrad; and brother, Robert Konrad.
