Tad was born August 29, 1936, to James and Ollie (Heddins) Hutton, in rural Cumberland County, Illinois. Tad and Nancy (Harris) were married December 28, 1957. From this union came three sons: Randy, Mike, and Jeff.
Tad worked in town for 30 plus years at Mac Oil & Sherwood Oil while farming in the evenings and raising corn, beans, hogs, cattle, and his boys with Nancy at his side. Tad transitioned to farming full-time in 1988 and never looked back, building a legacy for his family to carry on.
Tad was an avid quail and deer hunter for many years of his life, only slowing down when the quail were thinning out and the family deer hunters were outnumbering the tree-stands he had for them. He was always the first person anyone in the family wanted to show their deer harvest to.
Tad contributed to his community as a member of the Cumberland County school board in the 1970s. He also served on the Greenup area Fire Protection District Founding Board as President for a three-year term. He was very proud to help get this community service up and running. Tad was always helping neighbors in one way or another during his life just south of Diona.
Tad will be greatly missed by his surviving family: wife Nancy of almost 67 years; sons, Randy, Mike (Mary), and Jeff (Kristy); grandchildren Bill (Jen) Hutton, Kacey (Brian) Shobe, Rachelle (Joshua) Dunckel, and Gibson, Gabriella, and Maizy Hutton; and great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Mason, and Mia Shobe, and Janae, Raenah, and Warren Dunckel, and Layla and Walker Hutton.
Preceding Tad in death were his parents, James and Ollie (Hedden) Hutton; two brothers: James and Charles “Bud” Hutton; sister, Evelyn (Hutton) Treadway; three grandchildren: January Denise, Aryanna Denise, and Jaden Hutton; and two great-grandchildren: Landry and Lawson Hutton.
