Owen Scott “Scotty” Clark, age 95, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:13 PM – Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.

A funeral service celebrating Scotty’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. The burial will be in the Kibler Cemetery west of Newton, Illinois, with military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 AM until service time. In loving memory of Scotty, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital. Owen Scott Clark was born on December 24, 1928, in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Austin David and Mary (Stewart) Clark. He married Geraldine Joy Johnson on June 2, 1951, in Newton, Illinois, she preceded him in death on June 20, 2022. Scotty was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer, and he retired from Fedders in Effingham, after many years of service. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois. Scotty served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in the Alaskan Territory. He enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, raising cattle and visiting with family and friends. Scotty and Geraldine enjoyed traveling and attending horse races.

Scotty is survived by 4 Children – Marcea Maxon of Newton, Illinois, David Clark of Newton, Illinois, Donald (Geneva) Clark of Newton, Illinois and Alan Clark of Robinson, Illinois 9 Grandchildren – Jeremy (Jennifer) Clark, Matthew (Jenni) Maxon, Allison (Michael) Hasler, Duane Clark, Doug Clark, Bill (Amy Finn) Clark, Donna (Fred) Finn, Jason (Karen) Clark and Amanda (Bill) Parker 16 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 grandchildren Denise Clark, Ben Clark and Joe Clark, son-in-law Ron Maxon, siblings, Ralph Clark, Arthur Clark, Hubert Clark, Bobby Clark, Leatha McClure, Faye Clark, Raymond Clark, and Bernice Clark.
