Robin A. Klosterman, 73, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. A private family service with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Unit 40 Education Foundation. Robin was born on November 26, 1950, in Flora Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Marian (Ray) Dunlap. She graduated from Effingham High School and the University of Illinois. She married her high school sweetheart Steve Klosterman on June 4, 1972 in Effingham. Robin had a profound impact on so many throughout the community. Her teaching career began in Ludlow and Pana before returning home to Effingham where she taught for 26 years. Her knowledge and passion of English empowered so many students long after they left her classroom. In retirement she continued to serve students and teachers of Effingham through the Unit 40 Education Foundation and the Unit 40 Board of Education. Her legacy in education will be felt for years to come. Robin brought so much joy to her family and friends with her culinary talents. She was an avid collector of cookbooks and loved trying new recipes. Robin could often be found on the golf course playing or watching her daughter. Her wisdom and way with words will be greatly missed.

Robin is survived by her husband, Steve Klosterman of Effingham; daughter, Dr. Katelyn Klosterman of Effingham; brother, Michael (Peggy) Dunlap of Springfield; and sisters-in law Pat Klosterman of Irmo, SC; Julie (Larry) Garner of Mt. Zion, Kaye (Sid) Kibler of Effingham and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
