Loma was born in Gary, Indiana on July 1, 1927, the daughter of Clyde Fredrick and Gladys Irene (Crouse) Tolliver. She was baptized at the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church and then confirmed on April 10, 1949, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Louisville. She married Rufus Walter Budde on February 27, 1949, at the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church and they shared 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 7, 2009. Loma dedicated her life to her family and home; her love and devotion were the foundation of her life. As a homemaker, she cultivated not only a warm and welcoming residence but also a life filled with love and care. An avid gardener, she found joy in nurturing plants and flowers, just as she nurtured those around her. Her hands were rarely still, often busy quilting beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and passion. Her quilts, like her love, provided warmth and comfort to those lucky enough to receive them. A faithful member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Louisville, Loma lived her faith through acts of love and kindness. Her home was a testament to her unwavering faith, her love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Loma is survived by her children: Leticia Budde of Olney, Derle (Arliss) Budde of Mason, Ronna Schoonover of Louisville, Matthew (Elise) Budde of Farina, Gordon (Jodi) Budde of Dunmor, Kentucky, Barry (Brenda) Budde of Whitewater, Missouri, Libby (Mark) Bible of Xenia; 15 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
