Ricky Jay Justice, 73, passed away on October 26 th 2024, in Mattoon, Illinois with a room full of loving family and friends to usher him to heaven.

Memorial funeral services honoring his life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time, on Friday November 1, 2024, also at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Bell Cemetery at a later date.

Ricky was born at home on July 6th, 1951, as the youngest child of Verdin T. Justice (Pearcy) and Everett T. Justice, both of whom proceeded him in death. All his family and friends relied on his love and guidance to navigate life and his mentorship in building and fixing anything. His joyful approach to life positively impacted numerous in—laws, nieces, nephews, and friends; all of whom will remember him for his wide range of skills, his work ethic, his honesty, and his inability to finish a project for fear of being done.

Ricky is survived by his wife Lynda K. Justice (Jones); his brothers Granville L. Justice and wife Patricia, Doyle L. Justice and wife Pam, and Curtis W. Justice and wife Julie. His absence will be greatly felt by his surviving children, Marsey Justice and husband Gedeon Mariam, Nathan Justice, Tony Jones, Justin Justice and wife Brandy (Kingery), Stephanie Justice, daughter—in—law Jennifer Hilligoss Zang; sister-in-law Lois Justice, and brother-in-law Billy Cassidy; as well as eight grandchildren, and two great—granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, Ricky will join in heaven, his brother William E. Justice, his sister Judy E. Cassidy, and his son Jason T. Zang. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cancer Research Institute-https://www.cancerresearch.org
