Paul Thomas Sheehan 88, of Effingham formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 AM Monday October 28, 2024 in the StoneBridge Memory Care of Effingham, Illinois.
He was born September 19, 1936 in Shelby County the son of Clem and Mary V. (Hunk) Sheehan. Paul married Barbara Ann Kremer July 29, 1958. Mrs. Sheehan passed away January 7, 2004. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Sheehan worked as a Purchasing Agent for the Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative and was also a farmer. He was a member of the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois and a Honorary Life Member of the St. Mary Knights Of Columbus in Neoga, Illinois. Paul enjoyed farming and raising livestock. He also loved gardening, the game of golf and especially spending time with his family.
Paul is survived by his children, Thomas Sheehan (Michelle) of Neoga, Illinois and Paula Adams (Rick) of Odin, Illinois; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Jim Sheehan (Patty) of Danville, Illinois; son in law, Kenneth Brockett of Jacksonville, Florida; sister in laws, Pat Sheehan of Mattoon, Illinois, Louise Sheehan of Teutopolis, Illinois, Carol Sheehan of Teutopolis, Illinois and Mardell Sheehan of Shumway, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara Sheehan; daughter, Diane Brockett; brothers, Anthony Sheehan, John Sheehan, William Sheehan and Sam Sheehan; sister in Law Lucille Sheehan.
Memorials are suggested to the StoneBridge Memory Care Center of Effingham, Illinois.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 2, 2024 in the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois. Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Trowbridge, Illinois with Military Honors by the Neoga American Legion.
