Judith (Goers) Oldham, 85, of Altamont, passed away Monday, October, 21, 2024 at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center of Effingham. \
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Altamont Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Fortkamp officiating. Interment will follow in Arborcrest Memorial Park, rural Effingham. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00PM, Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Altamont Immanuel Lutheran Church and also 1 hour prior to services Friday. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Altamont Lutheran Interparish School or E.A.R.S. (Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary) Online condolences can be expressed by clicking here.
Judith E. Goers was born September 19, 1939, in Vandalia, the daughter of Werner and Eleanor (Duckwitz) Goers. She married Kenneth Dean Oldham in July of 1966; together they shared 56 years of marriage before his passing August 11, 2022. Judith’s passion in life was raising her four sons, however she worked various jobs along the way; she was a crossing guard for Altamont Elementary School and was employed by the Altamont Bakery. Some might call her a cat lady, but Judith just had a big loving heart, taking in strays and raising hundreds of cats over the years. She was a faithful member of the Altamont Immanual Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Oldham is survived by sons, James “Jerome” Jenkins and wife Melody of Lakewood, Rick Oldham and wife Renee of Tower Hill, and Terry Oldham and wife Becky of Newton; grandchildren, Joseph Jenkins, Dalton Brazel, Alli and husband Marshall Mellendorf, Emma Oldham, and Jacob Oldham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jeffrey Jenkins; brother, Linus Goers; sister, Janis Goers Smith.
