Randy Lee Dane, age 66, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Sunday morning, September 8, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

He was born October 19, 1957, in Flora, the son of Kenneth Russell and Lucille (McWhorter) Dane. He had previously been married to Kris Eckelberry Foland. Randy started his farming career on the family farm, continuing with several area farmers, including Bob Bailey and Myron Weidner, and later working for Bible Pork. He always looked forward to attending rodeos, horse pulls, and tractor pulls. Randy enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a son: Steven Dane of Clay City; 2 grandchildren; a brother: Tim (Shelly) Dane of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2 sisters: Loretta (Rob) Jones of Salem and Diana (Steven) Sessions of Bible Grove; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; an uncle: Leroy Compton of Funkhouser; 2 aunts: Cleta Colclasure of Farina and Della Deain of Flora; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew: Bryce Dane; 2 aunts: Eda Cook and Leona Butts; and 5 uncles: Jim, Lonnie, Billy, Larry, and Jerry McWhorter.

Memorial service for Randy Dane will be Saturday October 19th at 11:00am at the Bethsaida Congregational Christian Church in rural Dieterich Illinois. Pastor Ronnie Frazier will be officiating the service. Scattering of Randy's ashes will follow the service. A post service dinner will be held at the church for anyone who wishes to take part. Everyone is asked to bring a dish for the meal. Free Will donations will be accepted at the service to help with expenses. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
