Timothy Earl Day, 62, of Beecher City, Illinois, passed away on October 9, 2024, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Born on January 30, 1962, in Decatur, Tim was the son of Clifton and Mary (Oary) Day. His life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family, friendship, and community. A 1980 graduate of CowdenHerrick High School, Tim carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life which was evident in his professional life with over 30 years of service at International Paper, which later became Graphic Packaging. On September 7, 1984, Tim married his soulmate, Shelly Seely, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter and were honored to have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last month. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children, Kortney, Kalei and Tyler. He was a doting grandfather to Averie, Kole, and Aubrie Vaughn, who brought immense joy and youthful energy into his life. Beyond his work, Tim was a member of the Kaskaskia Church in Beecher City. Tim's zest for life was most evident in his personal interests. He cherished every moment spent camping and fishing with family. Tim could always be found in his shop tinkering on something that would give him a good challenge. After Hours Fix It Shop came of this hobby which he opened with his brother Jimmy. However, nothing compared to the precious time he spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His love for them was boundless, and he took every opportunity to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Shelly of Beecher City; his children, Kortney (Michael) Conner of Effingham, Kalei (Nick) Vaughn of Beecher City, and Tyler Day (Zoe Kayvan) of Pana; his adored grandchildren, Averie, Kole and Aubrie Vaughn of Beecher City; his brother, Jim Day of Beecher Cityand half-siblings, Chuck Day (Lisa) of Plainfield, Indiana, Jeanie May, and Sheryl Swearingin, both of Clinton, Illinois.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clifton "Skip" Day, and his mother-in-law, Jane Seely and father-in-law, Jack Seely.

Visitation for Tim will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. A private family-only service will be held at a later time. Memorials in Tim’s honor may be given to Kaskaskia Church and mailed to 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden is assisting the family. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
