Donald Max “Donnie” Swick, age 73, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:35 PM – Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A service celebrating Donnie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM - Friday, September 13, 2024, at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Mike Knepper officiating. The burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery near Falmouth, Illinois. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM, until service time. In loving memory of Donnie, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jasper County Cancer Support Group, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448. Donnie was born November 4, 1950, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Donald Swick and Joyce (Bohannen) Swick of Newton, Illinois. He graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1968. Donnie was united in marriage to Marilyn Antey on June 5, 1971, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Donnie worked as a machinist for many years and owned and operated Newton Tool Company. Donnie will be missed by many. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, fishing, and the outdoors.

Donnie is survived by Wife of 53 years – Marilyn (Antey) Swick of Newton, Illinois Sons – Jeremy (Christine) Swick of Quartz Hill, California; and Justin (Jaime) Swick of Fishers, Indiana; Grandchildren – Catherine Swick of Long Beach, California; Shane Swick of Quartz Hill, California; Henry Swick and Amelia Swick of Fishers, Indiana Brothers – Russell Swick of Decatur, Illinois; (Twin brother) Ronald (Becky) Swick of Newton, Illinois; and Roger (Patti) Swick of Newton, Illinois, Sister - Beth (Tim) Biggs of Ballwin, Missouri Brothers and Sisters-in-law – Evelyn Wallis of Bloomington, Illinois; Mike (Teresa) Antey of Newton, Illinois; and Donna (Dale) Hilgendorf of Tavares, Florida.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joyce Swick, his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Theresa (Hippler) Antey, sister-in-law Judy Swick, and brother-in-law Joe Wallis.
