Terry Allen (73) of Edwardsville

Terry Allen, 73, of Edwardsville, IL passed away Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Terry Lee Allen was born on July 7th, 1951 in Vandalia, IL to Kenneth and Rosemary (Kersten) Allen. His family resided in Brownstown until 1964 when they moved to Alhambra, IL. He is a Class of 1969 Highland High School graduate, and after high school became an apprentice in the building trades. He eventually founded Terry Allen Distributing and operated it until he retired in 2016. When he was not working, you could find Terry in his wood shop building furniture or communing with nature in the outdoors.

Terry leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Vicki (Giger) and is also survived by his; daughter Christy (Patrick) McDougal of Edwardsville; sons, Todd Allen of Edwardsville, Nathan (Daven) Allen of Marine, Chad (Melissa) Allen of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Elizabeth McDougal, Kenneth McDougal, Noah Allen, Madelyn Allen, Chase Allen, Caitlyn Allen; siblings, Patricia Evans of Trenton, Sheila (Dennis) Quick of Greenville, Gail (Dale) Henkhaus of Alhambra, Bruce (Lisa) Allen of Alhambra, Yvonne (Tad) Green of Alhambra; brother-in-law Don Hediger of Grantfork.

Terry was preceded in death by his grandson, Evan Allen, sister Sandra Hediger, brotherin-law Donn Evans, and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, August 27th at Liberty Christian Church, 1593 E 2300 Ave, Brownstown, IL 62418. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, August 28th also at Liberty Christian Church, with the interment immediately following at Liberty Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Terry may be made to the Liberty Cemetery Fund or to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home in Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.
