Richard was born on March 30, 1955, in Effingham, IL, the son of John C. and Mary Mae (Klepzig) Chamberlain.

Richard was formerly a self-employed janitor.  He also performed maintenance at various businesses in Effingham.  He sang in the F.A.C.E. organization for 12 years.  He enjoyed bowling and was in 3 leagues in town.  He enjoyed making practical items out of PVC to help him around the house. He was creative at finding ways to assist him at living at home alone with limited eyesight.  One of those things was his “sliding wall” next to his chair.  His biggest love was his dogs.  He will be remembered for his odd sense of humor and love of dad jokes.

The family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers and help at home who have assisted Richard. The family also wants to send a special thanks to Amanda and her family.

Richard is survived by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Chamberlain of Warrensburg, IL; and nephews, David (Deann) Chamberlain of Decatur, IL and Tim (Lindsay) Chamberlain of Malvern, AR.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert.
