Douglas S. "Doug" Baker (59) of West Salem

Douglas S. “Doug” Baker, 59, of West Salem, Illinois, passed away on August 11, 2024, at his home.

A Funeral Service for Doug will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney.  A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time. Doug was born on May 29, 1965, the son of Gene Blanford and Wilma A. Baker in East Chicago, Indiana. He married Laurie James on June 21, 2008, and she survives.

Doug loved his family and adored his grandchildren.  He enjoyed and spent as much time as he could working on old cars, and old stereo equipment.  He loved to fish, enjoyed wildlife and animals.  Doug had a heart of gold and a good sense of humor.

Doug is survived by his wife Laurie of Orland Park, Illinois
