Susan Kay Starwalt, 82, of Jewett, IL passed away at home on Friday, August 9, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, send memorials to Barkley Funeral Chapel.
Susan was born on December 15, 1941 to Kenneth Chard and Roberta Banks (Reebel) in Green Camp, Ohio.
Susan is survived by her children; Diana (Mike) Finn, Tammy Brown, Eleanor (John) Osborne, Bobbi (Brian) Quinn, and Harvey Starwalt, Jr. Grandchildren; Kyle Craig, Douglas Johnson, Deidra (Kenny) Weaver, Destiny Osborne, Rachel Osborne (Ian Miller), Wil Osborne, Jesse Osborne, Wyatt and Allie Quinn. Step Grandchildren; Mike Finn and Trisha Robinson. Great-Grandchildren; Aaron Craig, Kaia Craig, Raina Johnson, Beau, Barrett, and Bronx Weaver, Jacob Osborne and Elly McWhorter, Silvi Millborne. Step Great-Grandchildren; Jocelyn Finn and Vada Robinson. Siblings; Sherian Chard, Patricia Chard, Tamara Osborn, and Kenneth Chard.
She was preceded in death by her son Lawson Roger Kinman, Jr., siblings Phyllis Chard and Janet Terpening. Grandson Roger Aaron Craig. Great-Grandson Aiden Robinson.
Susan was a wanderer of sorts, traveling from Texas, Oregon, Arizona, and Illinois. She finally settled in Jewett to be around her children. Susan had a great impact on several teens working at a job in Tucson, Arizona. She was attracted to strays of all types, people and pets. She loved the underdog and felt compelled to help those in need after hearing their sad stories. If you ever heard her stories, you would hear about her fantastic life, including green bean fever, her pig farm, her ex- husband Ed Starwalt, her beloved Roger, and about many pets. She will be remembered for her feisty personality, her Chard Temper and will be missed by her friends and loved ones.
