Davey Lee Thomason (72) of Montrose

Davey Lee Thomason, 72, of Montrose, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and friend to many. Davey was born on September 15, 1951, in Fairfield, IL, the son of Bernard and Joan (Draper) Keen. He married Kate A. (Fletcher) on March 20, 1985 in Montrose, IL. As a young man Davey enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Davey was a jack of all trades. Davey sold waterbeds, cars, jewelry and baseball cards. He was an amazing man who loved his children, grandchildren, and most of all, his wife. He was a giver who would give to anyone in need and always made sure everyone had plenty. He had a strong love for his beloved dogs Carmel & Susie.

Davey is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kate of Montrose; two sons, Patrick (Emily) Esker of Wheeler and Eric (Micki) Esker of Montrose; daughters, Katie Hille of Teutopolis and Stephanie (Bruce) Haarmann of Edgewood; ten grandchildren, Tristin (Desiré) Esker, Mitchell (Lexi) Esker, Morgan Esker, Dominic Hille, Jaxson Haarmann, Brody Hille, Anna Esker, Wade Esker, Lincoln Haarmann and Liam Hille; two great-grandchildren, Lyla Esker and Everleigh Esker; four siblings, Jeff Keen of Ferndale, WA, Deborah Keen of Ohio, IL, Pamela (Brian) Krone of Sterling, IL, and Edward Keen of Dixon, IL.

Davey was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Joan Keen; father-in-law, R.J. Fletcher; and mother-in-law, Bernetta Fletcher.
