Phyllis “Sue” Kemper, 79, of Greenup, Illinois passed away at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Cumberland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenup, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. August 1, 2024 at the Greenup Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left by clicking here.

Sue was born February 22, 1945 in Bellingham, Washington to Floyd and Alpha (Collyott) Rhodes. She married Ronnie Neese and they had two daughters; Racquel Lin and Roni Sue. She married Jerry Kemper and they had a son, Joseph.

Sue is survived by her children Racquel (John) Fagin of Wimauma, FL, Roni Sue (Jason) McMechan, Joseph Kemper both of Greenup, IL. Jerad (Jennifer) Kemper of Fort Pierce, FL, and Dawn (Mike) McCaslin of Broken Arrow, OK. grandchildren; Derrick (Tiffany) Starwalt, Courtney and Logan Eaton, Jaton (Shelby), Jasie (Kody), and Gunnar (Mallory) McMechan, Hunter, Anna, and Luke Kemper, Keaton Kemper, and William McCaslin. 13 great-grandchildren; brother Bill Rhodes of Greenup, and special sister-in-law’s Javetta Kemper and Judy Carter

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Jerry in 2017, her parents, brothers Ivan and Bob Rhodes, and sister Jeanne Kricho.
