Ethan P. Bouser, 48 of Farina, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in the Farina Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to pancan.org for pancreatic cancer research, the National EMS Memorial, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Ethan was born April 26, 1976 in Salem, the son of Jon and Donna (Sperry) Bouser. He married Kimberly Page on November 2, 2001. Ethan served in the U.S. Army and Reserves until 2005. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father. Ethan enjoyed spending time with his family traveling, camping, and canoeing down the Meramec River. He was a loyal friend to many. As an EMT/ Paramedic for 26 years, Ethan has provided care for many patients throughout Central and South Central Illinois. Understanding the need for EMS in rural communities, Ethan was one of the three owners and CEO of RuralMed EMS. Ethan was an EMS educator and taught many EMS providers while working for Kaskaskia College and created the EMS Institute at RuralMed EMS.
Ethan is survived by his wife, Kimberly of Farina; son, Jon Bouser of Farina; daughter, Jenna Bouser of Farina; step-daughters, Lindsey (Ben) Hodge of Farina and Kaitlyn (Alex) Cooper of Vandalia; granddaughters, Camilla Bea Sasse and Maisey Susanne Hodge; brother, Aaron Bouser of Blytheville, AR; sisters, Kelly (Curt) Bedford of San Antonio, TX, Jenny (Gerry) Glaspell of Farina, Sharla Ramirez of San Antonio, TX, and Cindy (Matt) Spencer of Farina; many nieces and nephews, along with the many brothers and sisters in EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement.
Ethan was preceded in death by his parents.
