Wanda Lue Brown 84, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 1:50 AM Sunday July 7, 2024 in her residence surrounded by family.
She was born February 21, 1940 in Trowbridge, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Lola (Reed) Mummel. Wanda married Jim R. Brown September 15, 1956 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Mrs. Brown worked as a Custodian at the Central National Bank in Mattoon, Illinois and was a member of the East Side Church Of The Nazarene in Mattoon, Illinois. Wanda loved going for car rides and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of over sixty seven years, Jim R. Brown of Neoga, Illinois; children, James A. Brown (special friend Donnie) of Sigel, Illinois and Rhonda Kirkley (husband Rick) of Findlay, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Kirkley of Sullivan, Illinois, Ryan Kirkley (Sarah) of Decatur, Illinois, Jeremy Kirkley of Sullivan, Illinois, Bobby Brown (wife Val) of Dieterich, Illinois and Tony Brown of Oakland, Illinois; ten great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Joshua Kirkley; great grandson, Ethan Brown; brother, George Mummel and sister, Betty Smith.
Memorials are suggested to the Disabled Veterans or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 11, 2024 in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois.
