William “Bill” D. Houser, 76, of Hidalgo, Illinois passed away on July 5, 2024, at home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to7:00 pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in the Hays Cemetery rural Hidalgo, IL.

Bill was born on May 24, 1948, at home in Hidalgo, Illinois to William “Bill” H. and Loretta C. (Pike) Houser. Bill considered his dad to be his best friend. He was a 1966 graduate of Newton Community High School. Bill married the love of his life Barb Glosser on July 21, 1967, in Newton, Illinois. Together they had three daughters, whom he loved indefinitely. He owned William Houser Construction, LLC and built some of the best buildings around, and was also named “Best Boss” 55 years in a row. One thing Bill enjoyed the most was his trips to Colorado to elk hunt and enjoy the mountain views. He loved to deer hunt and spend time in the woods mushroom hunting. Bill was your Hidalgo weatherman, a professional gardener but most of all, he was a loving husband, brother, dad, and grandfather (Pippy).

Bill is survived by his wife; daughter Misty Keller, Jaimee (Michael) Johnson, Stacey (Chris) Parr. Eight grandchildren; Tyson (Cass) Johnson, Kiley Winnett, Derek Keller, Dalton Keller, Kendra Keller, Tanner Parr, Kennedy Parr, and Jacey Parr. Ten great-grandchildren; Kya Keller, Preston Johnson, Noah Johnson, Maddox Johnson, Fox Johnson, Indie Johnson, Cameron Keller, Zaevon Winnett, River Winnett, and Knox Funneman. His brother Jack (Mary) Houser and sister Diane (Dave) Neese.

Bill was preceded in death by; his father, mother, brother; Armon Whitley, brother; Bart Houser, Sister; BJ Carr, and infant sister; Debbie Houser.
