On July 2nd, 2024, Alexandra Bushea Schroeder went to be with her Heavenly Father at the age of 28.

Alexandra was born on December 11th, 1995 in Effingham, IL.

She is survived by parents, Kim & Kevin Schroeder; brothers, Christian of St. Louis, MO, & Alec of St. Charles, MO; and the love of her life, Colin Kenny of Chicago, IL.

Alexandra graduated from Vandalia Community High School in 2014; she played in the pit with band, handled duties as track manager, and was involved with yearbook. She and her best friend, Kendall Leander, became inseparable during this time. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in 2019. She was a sister of the Sigma Kappa Sorority in which she met life-long friends, which may have resulted in some shenanigans.

Alexandra was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia. She enjoyed traveling, being with friends, cooking, watching NHL Hockey (of course the STL Blues), rescuing dogs & cats, and collecting Breyer Horses.

Alexandra persevered over several medical conditions and surgeries in her youth which serves as an inspiration to us all. Fortunately, she lived a lifetime in a short span, making her way as a working woman, exploring the country, and amassing a network of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Brett Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to the service time at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center in St. Louis and/or Second Chance Animal Rescue. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
